General William Bancroft built the structure known as Bancroft Castle atop Gibbet Hill in 1906 as a gift for his wife. Although his overall plan was never completed, the General might appreciate that the dwelling he built for his wife is now a unique and popular wedding site for couples choosing Groton’s The Barn at Gibbet Hill for their special day.
Today, the historic location, owned by the town, permits four weddings a year. Guests are transported through cow pastures in SUVs to reach the exclusive site built into the hillside overlooking the valley.
Designing florals for these events is both a unique challenge and distinct honor that Copper Penny Flowers has embraced for numerous ceremonies.
Take on virtual guest status as we offer a peek pre-ceremony at the ruins and our florals!
